Welcome to the Thrift Shop of Ypsilanti!

Get Ready for August First Friday Now!

With your help, we’re hoping to help local kids get ready to go back to school.  On August First Friday, August 4, bring any new school supplies to the Ypsi Thrift Shop and receive a coupon for $6 worth of free shop merchandise that you can use until September 4!  Donations of a pack of pens or pencils, notebooks, a box of crayons or markers, school scissors will get you the coupon.

And here’s a hint: Local stores like Meijer, Walgreens, and CVS are having sales right now on these items (Meijer has 100 items for a dollar or less)—which is why we wanted to alert you early.  We’ll give the school supplies to a local charity, to be distributed to kids who need them, and we’ll give you a coupon for $6 worth of shop freebies!  It’s a win-win, for sure! The shop is at 14 S. Washington in downtown Ypsi, half a block south of Michigan Avenue and right across the street from a free municipal parking lot.  On First Friday, we will be open from 10 AM until 8 PM.

Celebrating Our 75th Anniversary at the Ypsi Fourth Parade!

What better way to celebrate our 75 years of support for local charities than participating in the oldest continuous Fourth of July parade in Michigan? The parade has been going on even longer than the Thrift Shop! We had a wonderful time!  Thanks to everyone who helped make this possible.

Special thanks to John Allesee of Saline, member of the Detroit Area Corvair Club, for driving his classic Corvair station wagon for us!
